Our client is one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. The evolution of this industry is very fast and volatile. There Is no room for mistakes, and no second chances. The telecommunication industry uses unimaginable amount of data, so they need a secure storage space. They also need this data to be accurate and up to date. The “time to market” must be very low, and the data reporting services run on a “First-time-right” model.
Kepler established a Competence Center, led by a Project Director, dedicated to managing functional and technical teams involved in this project.
This Competence Center was responsible for managing the business requests and solution implementations.
We found the best solution for the Data Warehouse (DWH) reporting system on Oracle, and we started the implementation.
The DWH solution we developed was custom made for our client and it gathered data from all the company’s departments, from all the countries.
Data is extracted on a regular basis from source systems. The source systems are applications such as ERP systems, that contain important and relevant company info. The gathered data is cleaned, formatted, validated, reorganized, summarized, and supplemented with data from many other sources, and then it’s moved on a server that contains Data Warehouse.
For this project, we worked with: Oracle, Tableau, Informatica and Oracle data integration.
We managed to adapt to the rapid growing data and to provide an accurate reporting system, that helps our client make sound business decisions.
This project that saw daylight in 2000, and we had a team of 6 – 10 consultants working on it.
With the help of our data Warehouse solution, the client has detailed reports based on accurate data coming from all the countries, it’s able to make realistic marketing decisions and has all its departments in sync.
