Our client is from the chemicals industry - a multinational company that creates paints and performance coatings and produces specialty chemicals for both industry and consumers worldwide. The client had a project in mind, different from anything he did before. He wanted to provide a new kind of service, out of his area of expertise: a solution for the systematization of work in car services. The client wanted a solution composed of software and hardware, including a large-format touchscreen that would be deployed on the shop floor of the car service, where the technicians can engage with it.
Kepler developed a cloud-based system that can be accessed from anywhere. The solution is a tool that uses color-coding to give visual feedback to the technicians. The information can be filtered by technicians, by insurance, by company or by vehicles that need to be delivered today. One of the features of this system, that makes it easy to use, is the drag and drop capability. Every vehicle movement is date and time stamped - this information can be used to create dashboards and reports. This solution improves communication about the status of the vehicles and keeps everyone in sync.
This project was done in Jira Software and for programming we used Java. The development process lasted 3 months and the project was released in 2017. Alongside the development process, we covered all the stages: analysis, development, testing, production and implementation. The cloud-based solution it's secure, stable and reliable.
One of the biggest challenges in this project was to customize Jira Software to provide more information than the Agile workflow usually allows.
With this solution, the client managed to enter a new market with a solid and trustworthy solution, gaining new customers and new business experience.
